This headline raceday of our two-day Italian Tourist Board Festival of Food and Wine Weekend is a real feast for the senses. Top class Flat racing takes place amid a host of culinary attractions, a day when elite sports people and culinary experts share top billing.
Saturday’s card is headlined by The Lavazza Handicap Stakes, one of the UK’s most valuable mile-and-a-half handicaps. There are also six more ultra-competitive Flat races on the card.
Raymond Blanc OBE, James Tanner and Master Patissier Eric Lanlard, who wowed racegoers at Royal Ascot, are among those confirmed for the Gastronomes Theatre this year, while Hallgarten will host an Italian themed wine tasting featuring more than 20 wines for every occasion.

His previous roles include Executive Chef at the Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London Marriott County Hall where he oversaw the new restaurant concepts, menu’s and openings of twelve of Marriott’s London hotels including London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London and the London Edition.
Matt Worswick is Head Chef at Michelin starred restaurant The Latymer at Pennyhill Park in Surrey. A familiar face to foodie television viewers, Matt has appeared on BBC1's MasterChef: The Professionals in 2010 and most recently BBC2's Great British Menu in 2015.
